BLOGGING MANAGER: Elizabeth Miller
Elizabeth is the Blogging Manager for the Green Lifestyles Network. She is also a public relations and communications professional. She has more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience and extensive experience directing programs, projects, and communication for established and start-up nonprofit organizations and institutions.
Elizabeth is also a writer, editor, environmentalist, educator and human rights commissioner. Her writing has been featured in numerous publications, such as The Wall Street Journal, African Herald Express, and Kansas City Star. She has served in an editorial capacity for political science and education journals and has had teaching appointments at Rice University and the University of Missouri. She is passionately committed to green living.
Elizabeth earned graduate degrees in political science from the University of Missouri and in education from Rice University. She earned her undergraduate degree in political science from Bryn Mawr College. She is a past English Speaking Union Scholar, Graduate Fellow at Rice University, and award-winning teacher and social scientist. David graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. He is a screenwriter and guitarist, having studied under classical guitarist Paul Hinrich while obtaining his degree in Philosophy. He moved to Los Angeles in 1998 and has been working on ideas for cinema.
Janani studies soil microorganisms as a graduate student at Ohio State, and is originally from India. She has been blogging about books and science, her two biggest passions, for a couple of years now. She believes that communication of science is as important as the doing of science, and wants to do her part to spread awareness through writing.
Missy is a multifaceted corporate gypsy, yoga teacher, green lifestyle blogger, and catalyst for positive change. She is passionate about spreading awareness of the benefits of holistic, green living and also building a connected, conscious community. Rachel is a mother of two, a permaculturist, organic micro-farmer, extreme salad wizard, amateur herbalist, and fashion enthusiast. She is the Director of Arizona Healthy Lifestyles and GMO Free Arizona, which is a project of the Council for Sustainable Living. She is a reporter and host at GMO Free News. Lauren is a senior Journalism/Mass Communications major at St. Bonaventure University in Western New York. She is thrilled to be GLN’s newest Newsletter Editor/Blogger because she enjoys writing and feels passionately about GLN’s mission to find sustainable solutions in nature. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she hopes to one day make a difference in her home city – but first she would like to travel overseas and explore a new part of the world. She’s looking forward to the wonderful experiences to come from working at GLN!
Lauren is a senior at the University of Rochester, although a proud native of Los Angeles. At school, she majors in English, but enjoys taking classes in anthropology, astronomy, and various other subjects. As a Green Lifestyles Network blogger, she hopes to enrich her own knowledge of living sustainably and healthily, while educating an audience wider than her family and friends. When not working or chugging out essays, Lauren can be found listening to music or talking about baseball.
Since graduating from California State University, Northridge in 2006, Rick Perillo has been working with youth and exploring sustainable gardening practices. He has worked on organic farms in New Zealand and Colorado, as well as earned his Master Gardener Certificate, Permaculture Sustainable Design Certificate, and Certificate in Global Sustainability from UCLA. Rick is currently designing and teaching a garden-based curriculum at a school in Calabasas, as well as running a garden consultation business.
