Event Announcement: Moms Across America March, July 4th

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOn July 4th, Moms Across America (MAA) will be marching national parades to raise awareness about labeling genetically modified products. The coalition, whose motto is “Empowered Moms, Healthy Kids,” is partnered with CA State Grange, GMO Inside, and Holistic Moms. The coalition seeks to educate and advocate the leverage behind mothers who purchase 85% of household food products. Such strong purchasing power can equate to shifts in supplier behavior, such as food labeling.

Mothers, as part of MAA, often speak of the health problems or risks that occur in their family due to genetically modified products. Founder Zen Honeycutt wrote, “The fact is that we don’t know how GMOs could affect you. Everyone is different. But we do see… that every GMO bite is a gamble we don’t want America to take.”

I will be participating in the San Fernando Valley area. Keep your eyes peeled for coverage of the event and to get involved, sign up for a march nearest you. Currently 115 events are available nationally. Participation information can be found by visiting Moms Across America at www.momsacrossamerica.com
