The Story of Holocuren and Epicuren Discovery

miracle lipsI am speaking with a Sales Representative from Holocuren Discovery at The Natural Products Expo West. Her name is Zumi Vance, and her smile is pleasant as she hands me a small bottle of lip serum that is inside a green bottle. The serum is clear and as I roll the stainless steel ball of the bottle onto my lips, the first thing I notice is the pleasant fragrance, indescribably beautiful and calming. Five seconds earlier my lips were dry and chapped from too much California sun. As I hand the bottle back Ms. Vance I notice that my lips are now completely moisturized.

Robert B. Heiman launched Epicuren Discovery in 1982. Epicuren Discovery is a line of natural skin care line products that are found at resort spas throughout the United States and the world. Mr. Heiman pursued his passion for skin products out of necessity. In his early teens he was diagnosed with vitiligo (a chronic skin pigmentation disorder that leaves white patches on the skin) that doctors predicted would lead to the young Robert becoming an albino within a decade. The incurable diagnosis of vitiligo encouraged Mr. Hieman’s academic pursuits which include: Bio-Chemistry, Mechanical Physics, Organic Farming, and Agricultural Engineering from Cornell’s Agricultural Extension in Farmingdale, New York.

miracle productsWithin the next twenty years, Heiman felt that he was able to reduce the advancement of his incurable vitiligo, using a core enzyme theory and an approach called “Aerobics of the Skin.”  Mr. Heiman formulated Enzyme Vitamin Protein Complexes that have made Holocuren and Epicuren Discovery to be one of the most in demand skin care lines.

Heiman’s most recent venture is Holocuren, a health and wellness company that is run from his homes in Kauai and Los Angeles. Holocuren’s signature product is Miracle Lips: a two in one medicinal lip treatment available as a thicker salve or liquid serum. According to Heiman, Miracle Lips may help individuals fight fever blisters and cold sores, and helps prevent chapped and dry lips. Using a combination of Propolis (from Brazilian Bees) and Tea Tree Oil (Australian), the product seems to penetrate to the cellular skin level to eliminate lip problems and infections. Both Propolis and Tea Tree Oil are antibacterial, antiviral, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory.  These materials are the penetrating base of all natural butters, vitamins, peptides, and enzymes that can eliminate lip problems. Miracle lips can be used daily.

lip skinRobert B. Heiman’s research shows that on the skin of our lips there are only 3 to 5 dermal layers as opposed to 16 dermal layers on facial skin. There are no hair follicles, sebaceous or sweat glands to keep the lips moisturized or protected. Our lips are pinker because they contain less pigment. According to Heiman, we need ingredients on our lips that boost cellular immunity to protect them from aging and infection.

How does Miracle Lips compare with other contemporary lip products?  Miracle Lips contains no petroleum or beeswax. According to Heiman, wax interferes with the body’s natural moisturizing mechanism that leads to dry or chapped lips. Wax also prevents exfoliation and seals in bacteria leading to infected skin. Last, it can clog pores and limits penetration of ingredients that can heal lips. Skin suffocation occurs with most waxes which can cause the death of skin cells and premature aging. Miracle lips may be also effective on cuts, scrapes, and insect bites. Go to Miraclelips.com for more details.
