Jeffrey Smith’s comprehensive documentary Genetic Roulette: The Gamble of Our Lives examines how genetic manipulation works and what it does to food, animals and people as a result. What was once promised to be a way to produce more food and fight starvation has instead led to environmental and health issues that far surpass any benefits. At consumers’ expense, the government is content is allow these big businesses to continue to fill their pockets without any thought to the consequences for users.

    Valerie graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in journalism and has years of experience writing for magazines, newspapers and public relations. She completed three years with the Peace Corps in Mozambique, where she taught English and communications at a high school and university. In the fall, she will pursue her master’s degree in communication for development in the UK.
