POLAHS Green Festival – May 31, 2013

1237395_87013506Come on out to Port of Los Angeles High School’s, our 2nd Annual, Green Festival

It’s student-run and interdisciplinary approach to environmental awareness, every Department is involved.

This year’s motto is based on philosopher Immanuel Kant’s saying, that:

The Actual Proves the Possible.

They let these kids know that they are the forefront of change and one of the biggest part of environmental and community solutions around them. Give the youth the power to know they exist, and not to give up hope. Be a part of the green initiate!

Come see what the Youth can do when they are engaged to teach and share with others!

Support a belief of environmental consciousness in the Harbor Area and support local vendors with your dollars.  There will be Fair Trade booths, healthy food booths, DIY booths, craft booths and many children’s activities, too.

Want solar? Come see our solar reps! Want a green car? Come talk to our green car owners to find the best model for you!

See what we can do together, and what the youth will to do if we give them a chance!

A portion of POLAHS proceeds from this event will go to support climate change mitigation and the endangered polar bear, our beloved school mascot!

Green Festival Flyer 2013Last year, those who showed up from the community were amazed by the transformation of our campus and you will be to! According to Rachel Bruhnke, one of the events coordinators, promoters, and staff member at POLAHS, one community member said it was one of the best events she had ever been to of this kind, all about environmental and community sustainability…

I hope to see you out there!
